This safari tour will take you from Ujiji Town to visit Dr. Livingstone Memorial Center. You will enjoy a boat ride from Kibirizi port to Gombe Stream National Park. You will experience an amazing tour chimpanzee tracking in the forest of the park’s boundaries. Come take this once in a lifetime tour with us!
You will leave for the Kibirizi port for your boat to Gombe Stream National Park in time to take off for a chimpanzee tracking tour in the forest. Gombe Stream National Park’s main attraction is obviously the chimpanzee families that live protected inside the park’s boundaries. Visitors take walks deep into the forest to observe and sit with these extraordinary primates for an entire morning. Apart from chimpanzee viewing, many other species of primates live in these tropical forests. Colobus monkeys, baboons, forest pigs and dik dik inhabit the dense forest as well as a wide variety of tropical birdlife. Later in the evening you will head to Gombe Bandas lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.
After breakfast you will take off for another day of chimpanzee tracking in the forest. Gombe Stream National Park became well known for the conservation project started by Jane Goodall, who first arrived in Gombe on 1960. You will climb to Jane’s peak and visit Kakombe waterfalls if time allows; as well as taking a walk on your own, after this trek, along the lake’s waterfall is also possible. Later in the day you will return to the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.
After breakfast you will be picked-up and taken, by boat, back to Kigoma Town. Upon arrival you will be picked-up and driven to the airport for your flight back to Dar Es Salaam. This is where your safari will end.
